Description

Name: Leoni Talon Amerghin (Leon-EE TAL-un ah-MARE-gun)
Age: 29
B-Date: March 21
Gender: Male
Race: Hylian
Height: 6’0”
Weight: 202 lbs.

Physical Description: Rugged but not unpleasant to look at, needs a shave, dark hair, red facial hair, dark eyes, well-built from leading a rough-and-tumble life (particularly his upper body, from wielding his sling). He has a scar on his left calf from falling out of a tree when he was young, various scars on his hands from burns, cuts etc and another on his right knee cap.

Battle Style: Long-Range, primarily. He can use his fists alright, and he carries a knife but to be perfectly honest he is much more comfortable with at least ten feet between himself and his opponent.
Weapon: Sling and lead bullets he makes. (He doesn’t have a problem using rocks or other things as ammunition; he uses bullets when he really wants to inflict damage.) A sling has a small cradle or pouch in the middle of two lengths of cord. The sling stone or bullet is placed in the pouch. Both cords are held in the hand, then the sling is swung and one of the two cords is released. This frees the projectile to fly in a straight line. It flies on a tangent to the circle that the pouch makes. The sling derives its effectiveness by essentially extending the length of an arm, thus allowing stones to be thrown several times farther than they could be by hand and with much greater force.

Bio: Leoni was born and grew up outside of Kakariko on the edge of the wilderness. His parents ran an inn and stables called Talon Lodge where travelers could rest from their journeys with some comfort and company. He had a good and happy childhood there, running wild amid the rough country with his siblings and working with his parents around the inn.

Because the Talon Lodge welcomed a wide variety of visitors, Leoni became accustomed to many different types of people and came to love listening to the stories that guests would tell when they stayed. Also, being around strange and new people from his birth, he gained a talent for reading people.

They lived several days journey from civilization and as a result of this, Leoni’s father, brother and himself would go hunting for food, particularly in the winters. Over years of practice Leoni developed great skill with a sling.

When Leoni was 19 his mother became ill and died. His father was getting older, and at the death of his wife felt he didn’t have the energy to run the Talon Lodge all alone. Leoni’s older brother had opened a shop in Kakariko and his sisters both married, so Leoni came to inherit the inn. He had a pleasant few years heading the inn with his father.

When Leoni was 27 strange things began to occur. There was darkness that descended on the land. Wild beasts and monsters roamed the land with more boldness and aggression, fueled by an unseen force. Leoni more and more frequently had to defend travelers on the road near the Talon Lodge and defend the inn itself from dangers.
His older sister’s husband went missing so she decided to return to the Talon Lodge with her young child for safety. They were attacked on their journey; they both made it to the inn alive but in need of medical attention. Leoni and his Father received a letter from Leoni’s older brother telling them of the struggles that were going on in the town and his youngest sister and brother-in-law also made a trek to Talon Lodge after repeated attacks on their village. With his family’s hardships and the continual stories of attacks on the road by guests and the need to defend Talon Lodge Leoni felt compelled to do something to help the situation. Another letter from his brother told him of a tournament happening in Castle Town to seek out a hero.

Knowing there were many people like his family who were being affected by the growing evil, and motivated by his desire to help and defend, Leoni saddled up his horse and made his way for the tournament hoping to be of use.

Personality: He isn’t one for acting cocky, but he has a bit of a performer in him, and can be susceptible to showing off now and then. He is genuine and tries to be as honest as he can be, but he isn’t above telling half-truths or withholding information if it is for a good reason. He is a good person and has others’ best interest at heart. He likes to make people happy, and goes to great lengths to help when those around him need it. He was brought up to make sure that guests felt relaxed and comfortable and it was not only a customer service policy but a life-principle his mother and father instilled in him. It is not in his character to be judgmental, he gives others the benefit of the doubt naturally. He is a good listener. Overall, his demeanor is warm and friendly, with subtle smatterings of cheeky playfulness. Down-to-earth, he has a practical approach to the world. He is a mellow extrovert, he gets energy from being around people and enjoys company. He has a natural protective nature and a strong sense of fair play, even if he can be a little lax on some societal rules. He deals with stress by trying to stay light-hearted about it down-playing the severity of situations.Usually he doesn’t like to talk about his own problems because he is already investing large amounts of thought and soul-searching on the matter. Leoni is a solver; he prefers to solve a problem as soon (and as best) as he can, not waste time talking about a problem. He has a good hold on his temper, but when he does become irritated or angry he gets testy, curt and sarcastic but he is not prone to being mean. One of his biggest pet-peeves is when he or another is being treated unfairly. The way he sees it people all deserve to be treated with a certain level of decency.

Misc :
He is a middle child.
He is good with animals.
Likes doing magic tricks and is pretty good at them. He knows quite a few.
His horse’s name is CrazyHorse, Leoni called the horse that when it was a foal and the name stuck. CrazyHorse is white with brown speckles.
The Talon Lodge was named that after Leoni’s Grandfather. Both Leoni and his older brother have the middle name Talon.

So here we have Leoni. ^u^ I am pleased with him and am happy with how the image turned out as a whole. I think it is nice. I finally have sensitivity in my tablet pen so the image isn't cell shaded.

I don't know much about Legend of Zelda, but I do like the games and thought it would be fun to make a character for the tournament. Two of my roommates entered so it seemed like fun.

I plan to be uploading things to dA more often, as I said before. For those of you that watch me because you like my work, look forward to that! :3

I love this layout. And he looks like a pretty cool dude. I wasn't aware of this tournament thing. Sounds fun. Don't suppose there's a place I could download a clean template is there? Even if this tournament thing isn't going on anymore, it'd be kinda fun to throw one of these together for my own OC.
